Your Favorite Yoga Studio in Caloundra

Great for the body, mind and soul.

Yoga is a great physical, mental, and spiritual practice that combines poses, breathing exercises, and meditation. Yoga can be seen as a form of exercise for both the mind and the body that helps individuals to create resilience, increase awareness and mindfulness, improve strenght, flexibiliy and overall well being.

Yoga Classes for All Ages and Levels

There are several styles of yoga that vary in intention, intensity, rhythm and many other aspects. The best style is the one that makes you feel great and doesn't need to be only one. Our body is different every day and therefore, the best class will be the one that stimulates your body the way it needs.

Powerlife offers a variety of yoga classes to best suit your mood. Our classes are suitable for all ages and levels.

Yoga Flow Vinyasa

A combination of strength, stretching and balance postures that sculpt and condition the entire body. Incorporating classic yoga postures, emphasis is placed on smooth transitions from pose to pose, using the breath and encouraging a mindful, integrated movement by embracing a state of flow.

Our practice is powerfully energising as well as fully revitalising for all the internal systems of your body. By releasing tightness in the muscles and dissolving tension in the mind, we enable your body to rejuvenate and restore itself - bringing a sense of balance to your whole being. Each class concludes with well-deserved deep relaxation.

Rise & Align Yoga Flow

Created for a morning practice. This dynamic Hatha-style yoga class enhances fitness, strength, flexibility, increases energy and promotes a total state of wellbeing. This class warms the body from the inside out, loosening tight joints and awakening the muscles with a strong focus on breath and body alignment. Physical and mental tension is released as the mind becomes clearer and more focused.

You'll walk away feeling centred, grounded and ready to own your day.

Yogalates

A fusion of the ancient practice of Yoga from the east and posture enhancing dynamics of Pilates from the west. Working from the inside out, Yogalates improves body awareness and alignment to help develop proper movement patterns that we use in our daily lives.

Yogalates awakens and strengthens the core muscles through Pilates movement while incorporating the asana (postures) of Yoga and its wonderful applied wisdom. We practice mindfully using the breath; the ease of breath, ease of pose and ease of mind enhancing a flow of calm, yet energised vitality through the body.

The use of resistance bands and/or Pilates balls are functionally used which assist with stretches, rotations and resistance (which replicate some of the exercises on the Pilates machines). This help opens the hip joints as well as warm the muscles. Through our guided class you will learn to recruit your core strength in static holds, slow flow movements, standing and balancing postures with ease and efficiency as you fine-tune the core of the body.

Every yoga class is concluded with time dedicated to relaxing in Savasana.

FAQs

Can I do a trial class?

Yes, you can! Actually, we offer a full-week trial rather than a single class. You can try as many classes as you like, including other activities, such as fitness and taekwondo classes and experience our awesome community. You will be asked to sign in at the front desk for your initial visit and then, you will have 1-week unlimited membership for free.

What class would be suitable for me?

The different styles of yoga have different purposes. Also, every teacher has their own personal touches, so the best way to find out is to try each class and decide the ones that suit your fitness level and experience, are still challenging, and that feels good to your body. If you're still unsure, please contact us and we will be happy to talk through the options with you.

Can I do yoga if I am not flexible?

The answer to that is definitely yes! No one needs to be flexible to do yoga. Gaining flexibility is part of the journey and one of the various benefits you will get from practising yoga regularly. Each person does a posture to their limitation and makes progress at their own time, listening to their body. In that way, the same posture is challenging to yogis of all levels.

What if I have had a recent injury and/or illness?

Please advise all your teachers of your injury and/or condition before starting the class. If you have a previous serious injury or illness please organise a written clearance from your medical practitioner or therapist before starting at Powerlife. Always listen to your body and respect your limits.

I have never practised yoga before, what do I need to know?

Listen to your body, acknowledge your limitations, take things slowly and only progress when your body is ready. As a beginner, you will feel comfortable participating in most of our mixed level classes. Options for both beginners and the more experienced are demonstrated in each class. If unsure, please ask a Powerlife team member which class is suitable for you.

What do I bring and wear to class?

Wear light, soft, comfortable clothes similar to what you would usually exercise in. For hygiene reasons, we encourage you to bring your yoga own mat. We also have yoga mats for sale or studio mats for use. Bring a water bottle. Yoga is performed with bare feet. Please avoid wearing strong perfume, colognes or strong smelling scents. Fellow class participants may have allergies or be sensitive.
